Andrea Porter has had poems published in many magazines, in the UK, Ireland, and the USA.
She has also been awarded prizes in a number of national poetry competitions judged by such people as Jo Shapcott, Ruth Padel and Andrew Motion.
Her pamphlet, Bubble, is published by Flarestack. This narrative sequence of poems was adapted by RSC playwright Fraser Grace into a radio play of the same name that was nominated for a Sony Award.
She has received an Escalator Award from the new Writing Partnership for her writing, which resulted in her getting an Arts Council grant to complete her first novel. Her first full collection, A Season of Small Insanities was published by Salt Publishing in April 2009.
